Mrs. Stacey Wollum
Grade 1W
My name is Stacey Wollum and I would like to say how excited I am about another wonderful year of learning, sharing and individual growth at Grimshaw Public School. I will be teaching first grade for the 2021-2022 school year in my 29th year of teaching. I love working with children and I believe in creating engaging and fun ways for them to learn new skills. My passion is teaching literacy and numeracy by creating a playful and hands-on learning environment. My classrooms are always focused on the specific needs of my students as I work hard to differentiate learning activities so that each student’s skills are emphasized. I love the enthusiasm first graders bring to the classroom as they are excited about learning and have amazing ideas and perspectives!
I was born and raised in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, Fernie, British Columbia. I grew up exploring the beauty and majesty of the mountains where I took part in a variety of competitive sports. After completing high school in Fernie, I attended the University of Lethbridge where I received my Bachelor of Education degree as a science major.
I have enjoyed living in Grimshaw with my husband for the past 26 years. I love spending time with my family and supporting my two wonderful boys as they participate in all kinds of sports and outdoor activities. In the summer I like to go camping, boating, hiking, kayaking, and visiting around the campfire with family and friends. Some of my other passions are travelling, shopping (great retail therapy), interior design and completing home renovations.
